The lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, Shytoshi Kusama, has marked the occasion of the first anniversary of the Shiba Inu layer 2 blockchain solution, Shibarium, in a recent post on X. Shibarium turned one on August 21 with a long list of major achievements over the last year.
The launch of Shibarium in August 2023 transformed Shiba Inu into a full-fledged ecosystem, shifting it from a mere cryptocurrency to one of the growing crypto networks in the market.
Kusama Celebrates Shibarium
In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), the vibrant leader of the Shiba Inu team celebrated the milestone by posting a GIF showing “Happy Birthday.” With this tweet, Kusama commemorates the first anniversary of Shibarium and praises the blockchain for reaching important benchmarks in just a single year of its inception.
Kusama made this tweet in response to a post celebrating the anniversary of the blockchain, which was made by Shibarium’s official X account. According to the X handle, the debut of Shibarium brought the dream of Shiba Inu’s nick-named originator, Ryoshi, to fruition. It also noted that Shibarium, which debuted in August 2023, had completed one year.
Shibarium One-Year Achievements
In honor of the L2 blockchain’s one anniversary, the post emphasized Shibarium’s accomplishments and current initiatives. According to the team, in only a single year, Shibarium has completed over 417 million transactions and created over 1.8 million wallets. Furthermore, Shibarium has supported a broad range of activities since its introduction, including NFT transactions and smart contracts. These facts and figures can be found on Shibariumscan, a dedicated Shibarium tracker.
The video attached to the tweet showcased more noteworthy improvements that Shibarium has already experienced. This entails bridging NFTs, cutting down on the seven-day asset withdrawal period to 45 minutes, and adding a fiat-on-ramp service that enables customers to purchase BONE on the L2 blockchain using credit cards.
In addition, Shibarium has completed three significant hard forks since its launch: Shanghai, Delhi, and Indore. The functionality of Shibarium was greatly improved by each of these updates, which also improved the network’s general throughput and automated SHIB burning.
The Shiba Inu ecosystem has also accepted additional tokens, such as K9 Finance DAO (KNINE), Bad Idea AI (BAD), and Unification (FUND), into the L2 blockchain. Through Shibarium Bridge, these tokens moved from the Ethereum blockchain to the Shiba Inu blockchain.
As of the time of publication, Shibarium had mined 6,444,974 (6.44 million) blocks, processed 418,106,720 (418.10 million) transactions, and created 1,812,763 (1.81 million) wallets.
